Fall is in the air here in Southeastern Oklahoma. With the unusually heavy rains the ponds are filled to the brim, and we're in great shape relative to vegetation. The Oklahoma wildlife department is forecasting a great duck season. Read more at http://www.wildlifedepartment.com/storyofweek2.htm. In the mean time we're making final preparations for opening day of duck season. The new Final Approach blinds should be in this week and our decoy inventory is at an all time high!
Separately, deer season (primitive firearms, aka muzzleloading) started this past weekend. The rut hasn't started yet and we've had cold and rainy weather. Despite this, sightings of 2 and 3 bucks per day were not uncommon for those of us out in the field. It should do nothing but get better from here...
Hopefully your fall is off to a great start. Drop us a line when you get a chance and let us know how your hunting season is going so far, and don't forget now is the time to book that duck hunt!
Take care,
Ben
